Change is breathing. We breathe.

You are the key. All of us are.

I feel caught between my desires to make great art and be a wonderful mama. Any suggestions for people like me?
Just being what you want to be will make you a good Mom! Nobody needs a Mom who is always angry because she didn’t follow her desires!
MaryLou Nelson
This photograph with 1970s superstar David Cassidy is apparently him trying on a pair of pants that were actually an art piece you created. Can you share with us the story of these pants and the occasion (we believe it was an art exhibition) and what you thought of David. He still pays tribute to John in his live shows singing In My Life.
He is a delightful person. My artwork was asking people to fit into my pants (Contemporary Cinderella Story) David fit in!

Yoko, what’s the quickest way to mend a broken heart? #time?
Don’t mend it. Just move on.
Aija Iiris @aijaiiris
Do you ever go back to the things you’ve created to remind yourself what kind of person you used to be?
I don’t have the time to keep going back. I am busy going forward.

Dear Yoko Ono. What does Woman Power mean to you? What message where you trying to convey?
Because women have their power. We are not people who are trying to imitate men and their powers. We must wake up to our powers, too. So we could be givers and not just takers.
David John Waterman
Are you still waiting for the sunrise? I love that song. I am an artist who teaches but the only art I want to paint is too stubborn to escape my thoughts. What should I do?
Write them down as notes to yourself, or as instructions.
ॐ @JeannetteAdame
Did you know that you and John would become peace activist when you first met him?
Both of us were activists already, separately. So we spoke about it, and said “Hey, that’s what we can do together!”
Sarah Pearlman @sarahmairep83
Good morning! When working on a new creative project, where do you turn when you need creative inspiration?
I turn to myself.

Hello dear Yoko, what you think about the technological world in which we live today, you see it as something positive or negative? I personally think it’s brilliant for science, but not for society, children do not read books! Alarmingly, I really would like to know your opinion.
It all depends on the individual. Even with children, some children would like to play baseball, and some just want to play with the computer. It’s all bad, if you think it is bad. It’s all good if you think it makes you feel good. While you are doing something that makes you love it, you will learn many things. Reading books is not the only way you learn about life.
Angela Mata
Do you think celebrity interferes with folks really seeing you as you? And if it did does it ever frustrate you?
Being what I am sometimes makes me feel lonely. But that is a problem we all experience. I would be a spoiled girl if I ever complained about that. When it gets very bad, I just count my blessings!
Vanessa Clark @FoxxyGlamKitty
What can we expect from your upcoming MoMA exhibit?
Things that I’ve learned from life.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this conceptual art.
All artworks are conceptual. The part you see is only part of what it really is.

On this day 46 years ago you and John were married, what are your memories of that special day?
We found out after the fact that wew got married on the first day of spring. We looked at each other and went “Wow!”
Nick Detaranto
What do you remember about your Grandparents? Any special memories?
They were very intellegent people. I learnt from them that you become more and more intelligent as you spend more time in life.

Hi Yoko, I wish much light & love to you. <3 What has been the kindest act you have ever seen someone engage in?
Forgiving.
Vanee @_Vanee_______
What is the reason you make art? What you think about art and entertainment on these years?
I am not an entertainer. I am an artist. You entertain people to give them joy. You give art to people to chew on.
Elizabeth Ahlborn @piscesjavagirl
What are your top 3 favorite things to smell?
The Ocean breathing, The silence of a Forest, The one you love.
When you compose a song, do you tend to do the thoughts/words first, and wrap the music around that, or do you start with a musical idea, and fit the thoughts/words to it? Much love always, Bill Conrad
It usually comes music and lyrics together, like the first line of music and lyrics. Then it’s easier to develop it. So that’s why I am considered a fast writer. Because I really am.
You have had an extraordinarily deep passionate love in your life. ♡ What would you say is the most important, in a relationship, to acquire a strong loving, passionate love such as yours & John’s? ♡ You are gifts to one another. Your’s is my favorite love story. Thank you.
Luckily we loved each other. If one had loved more than the other, that would have been such a tragedy don’t you think? Yes. I miss him.
Good morning Dear Yoko! I want to ask you about the connection you and John had with Robert Browningand Elizabeth Barrett-Browning? You wrote two beautiful songs based in their poems…..
John kept reading about them and said “Yoko, we are them, don’t you see? So many things indicate it. Elizabeth was older than Robert, too!” “Yes John?” Now, I believe it… sort of…
Arthur Williams
What do you enjoy most in life today in the 21st Century Yoko. We love you Yoko!!!
I enjoy getting up in the morning and looking from my window I see the delicate change of weather. Every season is so beautiful. Seeing that first thing in the morning lets me know how lucky I am! And then I learn all day. It shows to me how little I know. And how much I still have to learn. That is an action that is not open handed, beautiful and joyous like looking over from my window and seeing the beautiful sky. It humbles you to realize there is so much you don’t know. But at the same time, it gives me a great feeling that I am learning. Learning the game of life.

What’s the secret to staying creative?
Focus.
Tim Cusack @TheatreAskew
How does one persist in making art when it sometimes seems like the whole world hates art, unless it’s profitable?
People do not hate art. They indulge in passing hatred if artists make money from art. And they are right to suspect that artists are having much more fun being an artist than any other profession. Artists have freedom in their minds.
Do you believe that music is bigger than we thought? Like How big music can give so much effects to people
The vibration of music is very potent, and travels distances very, very fast.
Suzanne Bailey
Where did your being an artist take you when you were a child?
What came to my mind when I was a child was incredible. I kept having a nightmare about geing born in a large space which scared me. That was the start. That feeling of large space scaring me is still wtih me… as art?
Laura Zaar☮ @laura_zaar
Who was your role model when you where in your teens?
Nature and how it shines and smells so sweet.
Carol Holms
What attracted you to art?
When I was four years old or so, art was attracted to me. It kept giving me all sorts of ideas. I just forwarded to the world. And the world liked laughing with me.
Lydia Kim
Which age did you start playing the piano?
4 years old.
Amanda Moreno @MandyMoreno89
How did you get into music?
Music was always in my parents house even before I was born.
Vickie Mobley Evans
Yoko, what do you think is the answer go being emotionally content, especially as women get older?
Some mean people taunt me for still making songs and albums. Well, I wish them luck. Because one day they may suddenly be in my position where people are saying “Hey, Crawl in a hole and shut up”. I don’t think I will. And I hope you won’t either. Stay well, as long as you can, my friend. Let it be and enjoy..

I’m scared about being an artist. I want to go to college for it (I’m only in high school now) but people are always telling me it’s a fluff job and I’ll just be poor and too deep in debt to make anything of myself. But it’s still what I love to do! Do you think I should go to art school or choose a major with more stability?
You can do both, if you want. You can go to a college that is supposed to give you more stability but just be yourself and be an artist. Many artists never went to art school. Artists are not made in schools. They are made by your love and spirit.
Meghan E Farnsworth @spiffymegz
How do you see feminism changing & what can we do to improve gender equality & respect for women?
All of us are man/woman. When you deal with man, don’t try to deal with your feminine side. Deal with your male side, with love to men. You will see results.
Robert McCullough
The snow imagery found in your songs intrigues me, most recently as it “protected us” in Moonbeams. Can you speak more to your seeming love of/affection for snow?
I was totally in love with snow all my life! My mother told me that it snowed all night, and then I was born. She had the window open and was surprised that it was snow covered to way, way distance. She had me in her arms and prayed that I would have a good life! I remember how bright the snow was. I know you’d think I couldn’t possibly see on the first day! Well I did.
Charles Patrick
What year did you first leave Japan, how did that happen, and what were your thoughts while traveling away from your native country?
It was when I was two years old. I was standing on the deck with my mother. My dad came up to the deck, and stood in front of us. He kissed mom, and I was wondering if he would kiss me too. I kep looking up to see him since he was so tall. And the San Francisco hill was in a fog behind him. I will never forget that view. It was beautiful.
What do you think women can do to have a meaningful conversation with men about women’s reproductive rights, especially since it seems that male legislators, in particular, are so intent on stripping away all of women’s rights to bodily autonomy? We should reach out to our allies in the male species. They are not all dumb. The best of them understand that if they have women who are upset or angry, they will not able to give energy to the partnership, family and the household. To get more out of women, better that the women are agile, strong and free human beings. For that, it’s better that women get the rights to their body. If they don’t, then men will be the first ones who would suffer. But enough preaching. The most effective thing women can do is stop fighting with men about it, and get some intelligent men to fight with us for the cause. If you can persuade one man to join us in this important issue, the world will immediately start to see our cause differently. Yes. It is necessary for us to get our rights to our body in order to not be a slave or a parasite and become a useful human being to our society. Don’t ever think we are fighting against men. They need to join us.
jocelyn pitsch @jprimrose
How has your feminism changed over time?
Hasn’t changed. The world changed and made it easier for me to have my firm conviction.
Alan Doherty @AlanPaintedlove
How did John deal with haters?
He worked to make it better. The Beatles all came from Liverpool, and used a lot of great comedy and accents to make people laugh. With their high spirit and wit, The Beatles single handedly made the whole of Britain love them, and even accentuated their Liverpool accents sometimes to get a job
Corina Lindsay
What do you take refuge in?
In life. Life is not so bad, you know. Anyway that’s all we have. I’ve learned to love it.
